On Wednesday November 7th at 11:20pm, terror overcame one of the safest communities in the nation at Borderline. Families, friends, and community members lives were impacted forever. The following morning, the same community was faced with more terror as flames began to engulf the city and forced them to evacuate their homes, businesses, and schools. There is so much to grieve and begin to comprehend.

Do you ever stop and think how empty and meaningless our words often become? We throw out phrases such as , "love you" to every friend passing by, or "let's catch up sometime," when in reality they are empty phrases lacking meaning. When we wear out words without action to back them, they lose purpose to become bare fillers of space.

Today I'm overcome with many emotions... gratitude, joy, but also deep heartache. It seems as though everyday there's a massive headline describing another shattered piece of our broken world. My heart aches for the hate, the hurt, and the heavy hearts in our world, because brokenness is all around us and often all-consuming.
